West York Ambulance, Inc., began operations in 1945 with several volunteer members from the community. WYA known as Reliance Ambulance at that time responded from West York Fire Company (Reliance Fire Company) with the volunteers responding from their homes. In 1991 WYA moved from the West York Fire Company to Lincolnway Fire Company. In 2001 WYA moved it's entire operations to a newly erected building at 320 E Berlin Road, York PA.
- 1945 Reliance Ambulance Club formed as a committee of the Reliance Fire Company with a donated hearse.
- 1947 First new ambulance purchased, 1946 Cadillac.
- 1965 Reliance Fire Company moves into a new building at 1341 W Market St., Reliance Ambulance Club also moves.
- 1975 First EMT's at West York Ambulance in the 2nd Emt class in York County, Paul Wagner and Dennis Reigart.
- 1987 First paid Employee of West York Ambulance, Roxie Tate.
- 1989 Purchased 2nd ambulance to use, nicknamed the "Red Rocket," a used van ambulance.
- 1991 Reliance Ambulance Club moves from West York Fire Company (Reliance) to Lincolnway Fire Company, York County station 5, and has room for 3 ambulances, sleeping quarters, lounge, and office.
- 1995 Reliance Ambulance Club incorporates as West York Ambulance, Inc., non-profit corporation in Pennsylvania.
- 1997 West York Ambulance now no has no volunteers and is a fully paid organization.
- 2001 Ground is broken on May 14 for a new 6,600 square foot building for West York Ambulance at 320 E Berlin Rd. The building consists of offices, lounge, training room, fitness room, kitchen, sleeping quarters, and room for 6 ambulances. The building is completed and dedicated on November 1, 2001.
- 2003 A new Braun Express is purchased to give West York Ambulance 3 ambulances.
- 2009 A used 2003 Braun Chief Xl is purchased. A 2007 Ford Explorer is purchased in August. September West York Ambulance begins to provide ALS service to West Manchester Township and West York Boro.
- 2011 West York Ambulance purchased a 2011 Maque ambulance to replace the 1999 Braun Chief. The new unit was placed in service in March of 2011.
- 2012 A 2012 Lifeline F550 was purchased to replace the 2002 Braun Chief desiganted MICU 1-1.
